This is a non-content post. This journal exists mainly so I can comment on other people's journals, but I may eventually start posting again, probably complaining about law school. Said school has also made me paranoid about my web presence so all future posts will probably be friends only. Since only my friends read this, I doubt this will concern anyone. |

I don't post here much. I've never been able to keep a journal. I suppose I don't like trying to write things out.
I've often thought it might help to have a frame: chronicle the weekly farmers' market trip or the cooking experiments.
Cooking is more and more functional lately and the season for fresh veg. is almost over, but this semester has been transitional, but I thought I'd post an update anyway. ( Read more... ) |

| | nostalgic | ] | I didn't use AIM for a few years, now I have very few reasons to talk to people. I've been catching up with an old and dear friend who I will be seeing soon. I'm a little nervous about that because we haven't seen each other in several years and I look very different than I did back then. Oh well. I'm sure it will be nice to catch up anyway. I'm also going to be home next weekend to spend some quality time with another good friend who is missed very much. It appears that summer is not only the time for projects but also the time to renew old ties. |

| Projects |

This is the summer of projects. Since we have decided to stay in Madison for at least four more years, we are beginning all the projects we had considered for the house: putting in a second bathroom, painting, massive stuff reducing. We may be converting the third bedroom into an exercise room and sorting through all those boxes of stuff. Today I cleaned my office so that we can move more boxes in there for sorting. Next I begin going through all my old school papers. Our collective stuff is taking over our house and trying to push us out. The books in particular are out of control, not that it could possibly be my fault. Just for the record: this weekend is Pirates of Penzance, next weekend is Green Bay, and after that we will be in New England for a week (Boston then Vermont then NH), then it's August. Summer just goes too fast. I'm ready to be done with this whole undergrad thing. Silly health insurance. |

| First Post: So Tired |

| | sleepy | ] | I'm too tired to work or do anything constructive. I've read SomPos and QC and QofW and Unshelved and all of your blogs. Now I have nothing to do.
We painted the bathroom/former darkroom last night in addition to painting all the areas I patched on Monday. It looks really nice and no longer clashes with the mellow earthy tones in the rest of the condo. I felt okay at 1 o'clock when we finished, less so at 2 when we got home, and pretty awful at 8:30 when I had to get up, but at least the bathroom is no longer pink. (Not our color choice. Dave just never painted it.)Tonight we go touch up the paint on the one gravel textured wall and put the fixtures back in place. If you ever want to know how to turn a standard bathroom with fiberglass tub into a darkroom, we have pictures.
So our brief time as landlords comes to an end, but Jeff and Alyska were wonderful, easy tenants so I don't think it really counts. Even so I doubt we'll ever do it again.
I should work now, but instead I think I'll drink my massive coffee beverage. |
